August 1996 Malcolm Carter joined Acme Seals Limited
We have seen a great many changes over the years, but one thing remained constant over this time was the people above. Between them over 140 years of knowledge and experience within the security seal industry, there is not much that these guys do not know about security seals! However, time flies and things must inevitably change, Jim moved to Malaysia well over 20 years ago and set up Acme Seals Malaysia Sdn Bhd. from here he directed the Malaysia company into the huge success it is today While Peter and Malcolm as Directors of Acme Seals Limited maintained and continued to build upon its philosophy of great service and exceptional products now supplied from Malaysia.
In 1992 Michael Wood joined the company as a fresh-faced young man out of school and was initially employed as a junior sales assistant. Malcolm started at Acme as Sales Manager in 1996 on the road and around the world and was already well known in the seal industry he built a strong relationship with both Jim and Peter; He retired in 2017 leaving Peter as sole Director working out of Witham in Essex. Michael was promoted to Sales and Business Manager and continued in developing new business strategies here and throughout Europe
The link between Acme Seals Limited and Acme Seals Malaysia Sdn Bhd has as you would expect been the foundation of exceptional growth for the two companies. After much discussion between Jim and Peter, Jim decided to hand over the reins completely in the UK, and Peter will carry on now as Managing Director and owner of Acme Seals Limited. Jim felt he would like to spend more time with his family in Malaysia and concentrate 100% on the Malaysian business and is completely confident that Acme Seal Ltd will carry on for at least another 100 years under Peters careful guidance – if not personally all that time! In recognition of Michaels undoubted commitment, understanding and knowledge of all things in security seals Peter and Jim are pleased to announce Michael Wood is now Acme Seals Limited’s Sales Director a position he is well suited for.
Congratulations Michael you thoroughly deserve your new position and wish you good times ahead.
I want to thank my brother Jim for his guidance and understanding over the years it has and always will be a pleasure to work with you, I could not imagine a better partnership between brothers and business partners as ours have been over so many years. While in the UK he was the corner stone of innovation and improvisation withing the seal manufacturing processes many of the seals we have today are the result of Jim’s and Peter’s design.

A note from Jim Hedger
It’s been a rollercoaster journey for me personally, a career starting as a fill in job at Acme UK where I started as a toolmaker, all thanks to our mum Ivy who was a forelady at Acme, suggesting I get a job before my proposed exit to Australia! Well, the rest is history!
I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff in Acme UK, a special thank you to Mike on his new position as Sales Director and an even bigger thank you to my brother Peter, whom has directed the team for many years with little input from me unless requested. I have complete confidence this will continue with the continued support of Acme Malaysia.
